In CRANEWAY, Dlubal’s program for crane girder analysis, internal forces are calculated according to second-order analysis for torsional buckling which includes the warping torsion theory. CRANEWAY offers you two calculation options:
- Detailed calculation
- Quick calculation

Based on the parameters defined for the crane and the crane girders, CRANEWAY creates the corresponding load groups (crane positions). When the option “Fast Calculation” is set, CRANEWAY will calculate all load groups according to linear static analysis first (without parts from warping torsion). Then, only the governing load groups will be calculated according to second-order analysis for torsional buckling because of the internal forces and deformations. When you select the option “Detailed Calculation”, CRANEWAY will calculate all load groups according to second-order analysis for torsional buckling.

Therefore, we recommend to use the quick calculation for preliminary computations. You can set the detailed calculation for the final design.

CRANEWAY can be used as RSTAB add-on module or as stand-alone program.
